I just had a new 8890 GC installed on a rack system that already had 6 older 6890 GCs in use. Right after installation and hook-up all 6 of the older 6890 GC system suddenly displayed peaks that were 20 times the size they should be and negative. Most bottomed out and swallowed up everything. We tried swapping out the LACE box thinking something must have happened to it but it showed the same. Is it possible that the detectors on all instruments got fried from a power surge of some kind? I'm kind of new to this so I dont know if a fried detector would even create a signal. I also tried switching out the He tank just to eliminate it as a source. Any ideas?
