Regular Spike/Increase in FID Baseline Signal

Hi, I have problems with our baseline, FID detector. Every 17 min or so I see a sudden increase in signal, with a drop below standard after 1 min. Then a normal baseline for about 17min and so on. Does anyone know what this could be due to?

Hi Sophie_DB,

Often when there is a periodicity to the signal, there is something else on the circuit that changes the available power to the GC system. I have seen drying ovens, centrifuges, or other GCs cause this kind of repeatable baseline interruption. It could also be related to a gas generator, if you have one connected. A thorough evaluation of the power and gases fueling your GC will hopefully point you to the culprit.
