Unstable FIDs' baseline signal

Hi everyone,

Has someone ever seen an FID baseline like this? These examples correspond to multiple systems with FIDs. In those instruments with a splitter to MS and FID, the MS signal is steady – flat.

I’ll appreciate any suggestion or idea.

HI Andrea,

Do you have any gas generators running for the FID supply gases? This type of cyclic signal pattern is sometimes seen with gas generators. Alternatively, it could be power related. You might have a look at any other devices that might have been plugged in to the same circuit.

Hi Abbey,

Yes, we do have a hydrogen generator. And even though it is in use for longer than this baseline issue, we will take a look as it was serviced a couple of months ago.
