GC of thermolabile compounds

Hi!
I have a question regarding the feasibility of Gas Chromatography for the identification of certain compounds.
On the Agilent website it's stated that ''Gas chromatography can be used to separate, detect, and measure compounds that can be volatilized while remaining thermally stable'', but what about compounds that are thermolabile - I am particularly interested in Modafinil.
I found some information online about this particular issue (DOI: 10.1002/dta.2142), but I need more clarification.
So, my question is: Can we unequivocally identify this compound using GC investigation?
The investigation is done using these systems Agilent Technologies 7890b GC, MSD detector Agilent technologies 5977b.
Thank you!
