Increased Response on Agilent 7890 with u-ECD detector

Hello, I have a Agilent 7890 GC with a micro ECD detector. We had a sudden (overnight) increase in response. We are currently using the instrument to analyze inorganic chlorides. We have a PTV inlet. Have already changed the syringe and the liner. No apparent ghost peaks or other obvious contamination. Looking for possible suggestions.

Hi

May be liner of detector is contaminated.

Check connection of detector on side board.

Since, it's very sensitive detector then if any doubt then you may contact to your local agilent support for onsite checkup..

The sudden increase of the ECD background makes me think contamination, as ISH also suggested. Baking out the ECD can help with that.
