Troubleshooting proportional valves at 7890B GC EPC modules

Question

Hello Agilent, 
 The actual total flow at my split/spitless inlet on my 7890B GC is not stable, varies 1-3 mL quickly up and down, causing total flow shut down in the end. How do I check-out if a proportional valve at the 7890 GC EPC module are malfunctioning? Can I check the electrical resistance over the valve leads?

Hi Lars, 
 Checking the electrical leads , or under cover technical troubleshooting goes beyond the scope of the Agilent Community. I would suggest contacting Agilent for an onsite service to diagnose the issues.

Hi 
 If you have multimeter then you can touch multimeter leads with pin of connector of propotional valve to see that its open or closed. 
 If showing any resistance then its okay but if not showing any resistance then its not okay. 
 This is the standard principle to know open or closed loop.
