Suitable Column for water detection in ink

Question

Presently we are using GC 7890A with non-polar column , can we detect water sample using non-polar column? If we want to detect water for water-based ink in GC , then what would be column specification?

Hi soumitadeb, 
 Karl-Fischer is definitely the best way for a water quantification. If you still want to do it with GC you need a PLOT column, esp. CP-PoraPLOT U - that's the best (only) column which gives you a nearly perfect peak shape for water. Check out these application notes:
