Can you access the OpenLab ECM with Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome? We have always used Internet Explorer, but our IT department is planning to phase IE out.

Web Client for ECM 3.5/3.6 are browser independent: IE, Edge, Safari, Chrome, FireFox are supported.

An idea for a quick & easy test is a portable version of the browsers (this usually does not require admin rights):

PS: if IT now set IE to obsolete: is a very good idea (it is insecure & outdated: e.g. the support of many innovations is missing)

Browser settings can be quite tricky: IT may have implemented some browser addons => this is also a good argument for a portable solution.

Good, but complex diagnostics can be displayed in the browser with F12 key (Edge & Chrome).

Thanks mhardacker ! It is probably just a setting that we need to figure out. We have settings issues with other sites

It's worth noting that the web client is not the same as the fully installed client on a 'normal' ECM client PC. Standard functionality is included but not all tasks are possible with the web client. For everyday tasks however, the web client will be useful in this case. I was asked when the full ECM client will be supported in other browsers and when I queried internally, I was told an update should be provided later this year.

Agilent has two options for customers that are unable to use Internet Explorer

1. For users that need non-Administrative functions we have the browser-agnostic 'ECM Web Interface'

2. For user that need a full replacement we released the 'ECM Classic Client' in December 2021.

Both can be downloaded from SubscribeNET portal - https://agilent.subscribenet.com/ 

The ECM Classic Client is a self-contained application that can be used to access ECM without using a web browser. It's available as a customer-installable package for all customers with active ECM subscriptions from the Agilent's SubscribeNET portal.

You will find the downloadable file under 'OpenLab ECM and Addon Software' > 'OpenLab Enterprise Content Manager (ECM) Software'
