Leave LiBr containing DMAc on column, or flush salts out after the measurements?

Hello everyone,

in our lab we use a GPC with the following columns:
PSS GRAM Precolumn
PSS GRAM analytical 100A
PSS GRAM analytical 3000A x2

Our eluent is DMAc with 1.7 g/L LiBr. My predecessors used to flush the system with pure DMAc after the measurements were finished and switched to LiBr again for measuring with the intent to protect the column material.
Now I was approached by someone who is using the same system, and they always leave the LiBr containing DMAc on the column to protect the column.

As I am newly responsible for this instrument, I now don't know what to do with this information. Should we keep flushing with pure DMAc or leave it on LiBr/DMAc?

Thank you for your help!
Hans
