hi,
were currently working on a project to reduce the amount of syringe related issues when running GC assays. however once every so often our syringe will stop pulling liquid into the barrel. the syringe is a 10ul gold standard syringe with PTFE plunger.
the wash solvents are acetonitrile and the injection volume is 1ul
we inject alot of samples that are dissolved in dichloromethane. dichloromethane is a very aggressive solvent and may be destroying the PTFE over time and wearing away the seal between the barrel and plunger? if so would a syringe without PTFE be better. any other suggestions are welcome
