QuikChange Lightning Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kit

While the names of the products and their reagents appear similar, there is a (proprietary) qualitative difference between them. As a result, the QuikChange Lightning product is more suited to the generation of a single mutation within a targeted sequence using a particular pair of primers. Alternatively, the QuikChange HT product is more suited to the generation of a library of mutagenized sequences using a group of custom-designed primers. Consequently, in order to generate optimal results, it is not recommended that the reagents from one product be substituted within the protocol of the other.
