TapeStation Sample Buffer + Samples stability

Hello!

Yesterday, I tried running a D5000 HS Tape and mixed the samples with Sample Buffer, but due to the hot weather in Brazil, the TapeStation machine did not start the run. I would like to know if it’s possible to use these prepared samples (but not yet used) on another day. What is the best way to preserve these mixes of samples and Sample Buffer? How many days can I preserve these mixes?

Thank you!

  • Hello Isabela!

    Thank you for contacting us.

It appears that the ambient temperature was outside the operating temperature range of the HS D5000 ScreenTape assay, range is 15C-30C, or perhaps outside the operating temperature range of the TapeStation, range is 10C-40C. A suggestion would be to power off the TapeStation and allow it to cool down. Furthermore, please leave 75 mm of space on every side of the instrument. For your reference, I am sharing the following power cycling steps:

    1. Turn off both PC and TapeStation.
    2. First turn on the laptop and let it fully boot up.
    3. Next switch on TapeStation and let fully initialize.
    4. Finally, open Controller Software.

For most accurate results, we recommend running the samples immediately after preparation. If you would like to test your prepared samples, you can store the DNA sample/sample buffer mix protected from light and stored between 2C-8C. However, please note that we cannot guarantee results with samples that have been previously prepared and stored as we have not tested nor validated this approach.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
