Tape Station Client Application

Hello
I am having a little trouble with the Tape Station client on a windows laptop.  Ver 3.2

Normally when you launch the application, you see a splash screen. It fades out after a few seconds then the software opens. At this time, use will launch and the splash screen well sit there for about 10 seconds then just disappear rather than fade out, and the application will not start.  Can't seem to find a permanent fix.  remove/reinstall - delete and create new local user profile - replaced laptop - tried two different versions.  All of these fixed it for a while, now its back again.

Not sure what else to look at. We have several users with this installed and have only seen it a couple other times. Wondering if there is another software installed that it doesn't play nice with.
Out of ideas. Please help,

Thanks,

  • Hello Todd,

Thank you for your question concerning the TapeStation software not opening. This sounds similar to a problem reported in the Known Problems or Limitations chapter in the TapeStation Software Readme. We observed this error when the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer software was installed or uninstalled on the same computer running the TapeStation software. The installation of the Bioanalyzer software corrupted a Microsoft .NET file on the computer. It is possible that this could occur for other software that also have similar Microsoft .NET dependencies. The suggested resolution is detailed on page 26 of the readme. If you require further assistance with this case, please contact us at Electrophoresis@Agilent.com.

The current revision of TapeStation software is 4.1.1, we do recommend to upgrade to the latest revision of software. The update is free of charge and can be downloaded from our website, TapeStation Software Update.
