hmw genomic DNA (100kb) analyzed on a genomic ScreenTape.

Question

Hello, I have a TapeStation 4150. Can hmw genomic DNA (>100kb) be loaded onto the genomic ScreenTape, or will the capillaries get plugged? I am aware this is not the appropriate instrument for this size of DNA.

 Thank you for your question. The TapeStation instrument does not use capillaries. Our TapeStation system uses our ScreenTape technology, which is in essence, a tiny slab gel. As long as the HMW sample can migrate on the gel, you will get a concentration value, however, size will simply report as >60,000 bp.
