MS40+ oil leak, can I change this racor and put a cap?

Hi everyone.

We've been experiencing some oil loss through the drain port, using the racord fit (at left) + hose.

I've found a cap (at right at the picture) that has the same "thread pitch" (it fits) (sorry for my english) in the port. It seems excactly the same cap like the one that goes in the "inlet" of oil.

Could we use the pump with this cap in the drain port, instead of the racord fit+hose (which is at left), that's been causing oil loss?

It's confusing for me, because in the manual the pictures show a cap, but on the other hand, Agilent's videos show the racord+hose installed.

Thanks!!

  • Hi,

it is absolutely fine to use the normal plug in our pump (hope that bomb was a typo :-)

The elbow fitting with a hose version was used some time ago and was replaced with a new version for precisely these reasons (leaks).

You can upgrade our old pump with the new oil drain kit G8400-67315. It is a valve that opens when you screw in the corresponding hose.

    Cheers

    Chris

  • Hi Chris, thanks very much for the answer.

hahaha, I speak spanish, and we say "bomba" to the pumps, that's why I wrote "bomb".

By the way, I'm going to answer another question you asked a little time ago.
