SDA Administration

If you can open the SDA application, then you are a member of the local administrator and SDAAdministrator groups.  My guess is that when you try to Logon to the SQLExpress server you get that error?  This error typically happens if the database was moved.  Has someone moved your C:Spectroscopy Databases folder?  Check that this folder is still there and that the VAIMAdminDatabase is in it.

If that folder or database has been moved, you will need an Agilent engineer to come onsite to relink it.  Call your local Agilent support center.

with lots of luck the engineer could fix this, but there is a „good chance“ that reinstalling is required. 
this will also mean that a requalification is needed.

The database can be relinked by the engineer.  The reason it must be done onsite is for documentation purposes.  The program used to relink it does not show in the Audit Trail.  The engineer will provide a service report with detailed description of what was done to document this process.
