My 7700 ICP/MS has very high signals for all masses, which are about from 11E6 to 17E6. and very stable at that high levels. Of course I can not tune or analyze samples. Is it any problem with the detector ?
Thanks for any input.

Is this batch in autotune, and is the plasma ignition sequence in 'standard tune'? And is the full startup (P/A factor and full spectrum not needed) run without errors?
Whenever I turn on the check signal, the cps is too high so I can not do anything ,tuning or P/A factor.
Hi haiedc, I think we are seeing huge background signal coming from your quarupole and not from your detector. The signal for 7 is lower compared to the signal of 205. I think the best choice is to call an agilent engineer and troubleshoot it on line. We have also a nice on-line high background troubleshooting tool: ICP-MS Interactive Troubleshooting tool for high background problems | Agilent.
Thank you for your input. I still think it's due to the detector because when I reduced the EMV to nearly nothing, the signal is unchanged !
So probably a good starting point is to replace the detector and re-check the system. Did the on-line tool help for your case?
OK, we'll check.
Thanks a lot.
