Can I use Magnesium Chlorite as solution to detect Phosphorous in ICP-OES?

I have large amount of MgCl2 solutions and sample sets and it takes time to transfer all those solution to nitric acid.

To my understanding, low conc of MgCl2 should not damage the machine, is that correct?

In general, TDS is what you want to look at. The instrument can handle fairly high TDS(up to 25%), but it will reduce the lifespan of your consumable. You can test it and see if you get decent recovery on a spike.

It is unlikely you would damage the machine regardless. At worst, you would need to replace a torch or nebulizer.
