Question

Someone will know why copper standard is used for the qualification of the flame of the equipment, when USP requests that it be done with a Zinc standard.

USP does not specify that Zn must be used for FAAS OQ tests. The OQ tests mentioned in USP-NF <852> are typical examples only, other tests and samples can be used. 
 Agilent&rsquo;s AA instruments use Cu for the manufacturing and installation tests, and we have been doing so for more than 20 years with the full acceptance of all of our customer base within all the industries we support.
