Are we able to choose which elements to measure for each sample in the batch? ICP-MS MassHunter

Hi!

There is a task to analyze multiple elements in some samples. But not for each sample we need to measure all elements that are set in the Batch. Is there a possibility to program the Batch so that for each sample we could choose data for which elements should be acquired? Because if we create several batches for this task, we will need to perform repeated calibrations. So, as well as measuring additional elements in samples the repeated calibration will be waste of time and consumables. We have MassHunter ver. D.01.01.

For examle, we need to measure Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, but

in sample #1 we need only Na, Mg, Al, K,

in sample #2 Mg, Al, K, Ca,

in sample #3 K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe,

in sample #4  Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe.

Kind regards,

Volodymyr

  • Yes. In the sample list table, right click and add sub list column. A column will appear that says <All>. Double click and you can create as many sub lists as you want and name them however you like. Just make sure you choose your internal standards and any masses used for corrections as well (these often show up with square brackets if you have them). Then back in the sample list select the sublist you want for each sample.
