There is an ongoing problem with methanol poisoning in developing countries. I believe that both FTIR and Raman have the ability to determine methanol presence. FTIR, I believe, has the ability to provide quantitative data regarding the methanol concentration. I also believe that the mid-IR range is best for this type of analysis. Can anyone suggest a FTIR spectrophotometer and software that can provide the data that I am seeking?
