Cleaning / lubricating ICP-OES 5800 peristaltic pump?

One of the rollers on the pump is squeaking intermittently, and I want to fix it before it drives everyone in the department insane. However, I can't figure out how to get the casing off. I thought I could just unscrew the large bolt in the center to get to the rollers, but that won't budge. Can't find any videos or documentation on cleaning or maintenance on the pump itself, either. Is there a good way to dismantle it for cleaning or is it possible to just use a bit of lubricant? If so, which?

  • Hi,

the Rollers itself are not demountable. So there is no good way to clean them.

Normally the last very long, but sometimes it happens that a peripump tube is leaky. Then it is obvious, that the corrosive solution will cause damage.

Honestly i can´t recommend lubricating the rollers. Even if it helps, it is a very temporary solution, with the disadvantage that the oil (or whatever you use for lubricating) will have contact to the peripump tube.

So, my suggestion is to replace the rollers, and have an eye on replacing the peri pump tubes in time.

    Best Regards

    Chris
