ORS Not working properly

Greetings. I was wondering what can cause ORS to stop working ? We had to change ours after 3.5 years. The reason was the ORS was not receiving control board signals properly and the collision gases were not leaving the cell properly. Can heavy matrix introduction be the reason?

There is no way to know for sure. It is in the path of the ion beam, and the octupole does require cleaning or replacing on a periodic basis. We would have to know if it&rsquo;s ever been serviced in the past 3.5 years prior to this happening. If not that is the most likely cause of the failure, not the heavy matrix.
