EM pulse limit?

I am having the same issue. Masshunter crashed whilst performing dead time and now dead time value stuck at zero and cannot run dead time calibration and keep getting same EM limit error. Detector is recently new and installed and voltages are well below any limits. How did you over come your issue ?

Hi there, our problem was related to completely weird values in EMPulseLimit and EMAnalogLimit in the ICP-MS Hardware config file. No idea why and how these were altered at some point, but having it back to normal values solved the issue..

Hi there Romaine. Thanks very much this is very helpful. Fortunately we have a (v.expensive) service contract with Agilent and we managed to get an engineer to attend to get into the engineer menu (engineer secret password only!) and reset the deadtime. However, once this was done we were still having issues and it was the same issue you had - the EM pulse limit was wildly wrong. Once set to a sensible setting all was fine. In a nutshell your helpful answer would have been a godsend if we didn't have access to a Agilent engineer and helps me understand the issue moving forward.

Just so you know, you can move the xml files under ".\Agilent\ICPMH\1" folder to somewhere else, if any of those files are corrupt. MassHunter will create a new one and get the correct settings from the ICPMS accordingly.
