Water flow error on 5110

Question

I recently started getting a water flow error on my 5110 indicating that the flow was below the threshold. The chiller indicates that the pressure is within the criteria and the instrument will run through about 4 samples (3 calibration and 1 unknown) before the error shuts down the plasma. I have cleaned the filter in the chiller and the water inlet filter on the instrument. I have reversed the flow on the chiller and allowed it to circulate for several minutes before reverting but cannot seem to resolve this. Any suggestion while I wait for a service visit?

Hi KJNR, go to the dashboard tab and check the camera water flow and RF water flow making sure they are in the green zone. If one is in the green zone and the other in the red zone it suggests a blockage in the instrument. If both are low (or in the red zone) it could be you don't have enough flow from the chiller, especially if the chiller has long supply hoses. It maybe necessary to increase the water supply pressure to compensate.

To add on to Adrian. Make sure the chiller is full of water. If you still have the error, increase the pressure. The pressure can go up to 45 with no issue.

This is done by taking off the chiller's top cover(by removing two screws at the back of the chiller). There will be a visible handle you can turn that will adjust the pressure.
