ICP expert "OpenWorksheetFailed" error

I cannot open ICP expert data from another Agilent ICPOES loaded from a flash drive. I receive a "Open Worksheet Failure" message. Windows will recognize the data as a .esws file. I have tried cycling the software, I have power cycled the PC, I have tried loading the data from a different flash drive, I have loaded the software onto the hard drive. and I had the colleague send the data again in a separate email. Is this a ICP Expert setting issue, a windows setting issue, an incomplete data file issue, or something else?

So you are trying to open an ICP worksheet from instrument A on Instrument B? Are the software versions the same for both instruments? Did you close the worksheet first on instrument A before copying it? I think the different serial numbers for the instruments is the problem. See if you can open the worksheet from the software DEMO or Simulation version on the desktop.

I tried opening the data files in the demo version of ICP expert, but I received the same error. Originally I sent data to a colleague with another Agilent ICP OES. She reviewed my data made some corrections to the curve modeling and emailed it back to me. She also emailed the original data file which I also now cannot open. Is is possible that she is using a newer version of ICP expert and once the newer software opens the file it is altered in a way that makes in incompatible with an older version of ICP expert? I had this happen once with a different vendors software.

Yes, that is most likely the reason why. If she opened the file in a more recent version than the version you have, you will not be able to open it.
