Issue
Storing the Agilent AriaMx plasticware to ensure its quality and performance.
Background
AriaMx plasticware is made of polypropylene, a durable and flexible material that is widely used in biology laboratories. Polypropylene has several advantages, such as:
Steps to Follow
Storing AriaMx Plasticware Before Use
Store the AriaMx plasticware in a dry and cool place out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources. This storage will prevent the damage or degradation of the plasticware due to exposure to UV rays, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
The recommended storage temperature range for AriaMx plasticware is between – 20 and 30 °C. However, polypropylene can tolerate temperatures as low as – 88 °C and as high as 122 °C without affecting its quality or performance. Therefore, you can store AriaMx plasticware in a freezer or a refrigerator, so long as you avoid rapid temperature changes that could cause condensation or cracking. Agilent have not performed any long-term storage studies for specific temperatures, but so far, no product issues caused by low or high storage temperatures have been reported.
Storing AriaMx Plasticware After Use
Samples can be stored in the AriaMx plasticware. If after analysis you require aliquots, samples can be transferred to, for example, microcentrifuge tubes, 96-well plates, or tube strips. Depending on the intended storage period of the PCR products, they can be stored short-term in a refrigerator or long-term in at -20. After using AriaMx plasticware, dispose of it according to local regulations and guidelines.
Caution: Reusing the AriaMx plasticware is not possible. Residues from the previous reaction would contaminate any subsequent experiments.

Risks of Improper Storage
Improper storage of AriaMx plasticware could lead to:
To avoid these risks, you should always follow the storage recommendations for AriaMx plasticware and use them as soon as possible after opening the package.
Caution: Be aware that using noncompatible plasticware, especially colored plasticware, could result in unusually high signals or sudden changes in signal levels. The use of plasticware that does not match the required size and material quality could potentially damage your AriaMx.
