Issues Connecting an AriaMx Instrument to a PC

Issue

When sending a run configuration from the AriaMx PC software, no run configuration is transmitted. The expected blue confirmation icon does not appear at the bottom of the touch screen (Figure 1).

Background

This issue can occur if there is a direct connection between the PC and the instrument, and the PC is connected to the Internet or local network through a wireless network.

The wireless network is interfering with the LAN connection to the AriaMx instrument.

Resolution

De-activate the wireless connection while PC is used with the AriaMx instrument. To de-activate the wireless connection on a Windows 10 PC:

  1. Open the Windows Settings application:
    • Click the Start button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
    • Select the Settings application (the icon looks like a gearwheel).
  2. In Windows Settings, select Network & Internet.
  3. On the left side of the application, select Wi-Fi.
  4. To disable the Wi-Fi and the wireless connection, Click the Wi-Fi toggle switch. 
  5. Confirm that the Wi-Fi switch is in the off position, indicating that the wireless connection is disabled.

     

     

 

  
Tip: If the laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, do not use a USB to ethernet adapter but connect to the network instead.
