No Data Points Error in MassHunter Quantitative Data Analysis

Created by Xu Li-hua Xu Li-hua over 1 year ago | Last modified by Carlos Vargas Carlos Vargas 10 months ago

This Information Applies To: Agilent MassHunter Quantitative Data Analysis Software

Issue:

The "NO DATA POINTS" error message appears in the Compound Information window in the lower-left corner in Quantitative Analysis. Sometimes, this problem may also be described as 'not seeing any chromatogram' or 'no peaks are visible in the chromatogram'. In this situation. A possible reason for this error is the MSTree2.bin file in the data file may be corrupted. To solve this error, see the following procedure.

Steps to follow:

  1. Close MS Quantitative Analysis.

  2. Using the File Explorer, go into the directory where the data files where the issue is occurring, are found. Take the data Y01904017.D as an example - its MSTree2.bin file is located in the folder Y01904017.D / AcqData (see Figure 1). There should be one MSTree2.bin file for each data file/folder in the directory.

Figure 1. AcqData folder files detail
    1 - MSTree.2 bin file path  2 -  MSTree2.bin file
  3. Delete the MSTree2.bin file for the corrupted data.
  4. Re-open Quantitative Analysis
  5. Reload the batch. A new MSTree.bin file will be created for each data file.
  6. Reanalyze the batch.

If the preceding procedure does not solve the issue, contact your local Agilent support representative.
