How to Add a New System in Lab Advisor

Created by Sarah Scheirs Sarah Scheirs over 2 years ago | Last modified by Carlos Vargas Carlos Vargas over 1 year ago

This Information Applies To: Agilent Lab Advisor Software

Issue:

Lab Advisor Software provides state-of-the-art tests, tools, and calibrations to support you in the daily operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting tasks.

This article describes how to add a new Agilent LC system within Lab Advisor.

Steps to follow:

  1. Open Lab Advisor and click Add System.
  2. Type a name for the instrument. Do not use special characters, only numbers and letters.
  3. Enter the instrument address. i.e. COM1 for RS-232 or the IP address/localhost for LAN. The default IP address for Agilent's modules is 192.168.254.11, if another IP address is used, check the installation report or check with the IT department if any changes have been made.
  4. Press "OK". Lab Advisor will now connect to the instrument. See the entire process in Figure 1.
