Issue

During OpenLab CDS software data acquisition, the following errors are shown.
Unable to create acaml file: one or more errors occurred 
Error: InstrumentUnable to create acaml file: One or more errors occurred; Exception saving to file: xxxxxx 

Then the sequence aborted.  

Instrument status is shown as "Run Queue - Aborted sequence."

By checking the windoxxxxxxxx.seq; Aborted By: Hardware error_ "ws event log, error records will be found at Windows System events log as 8010 error: "Information DNS Client Events 8010 (1028)".

The system failed to register pointer (PTR) resource records (RRs) for the network adapter.

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by enabling the DNS Reverse lookup Zone at the DNS server in Windows Server.

Caution: For setting the DNS Configuration, the user will need to have privileges to access the DNS server settings in your domain network. A request to modify server settings may require the Administrator privileges of an IT specialist in your organization.

Steps to Follow

How to Configure Reverse Lookup Zones on Windows Server 2016.

These steps are similar across all other server versions (e.g. 2008, 2012).

• Step 1: Open the DNS Management Console (Figure 1)
  On Windows Server 2016 just type DNS in the search Box to quickly find the DNS console.

• Step 2: Create New Reverse Lookup Zone (Figure 2)
  In the DNS console, right click “Reverse Lookup Zones” and Select “New Zone”
  This action will start the new zone wizard.

• Step 3: Choose Zone Type at New Zone Wizard (Figure 3)
  On the Zone Type page, select Primary Zone

  Choose to replicate to all DNS servers running on domain controllers in this domain.(Figure 4)

  Choose IPv4 or IPv6, for this example IPv4 is being used. (Figure 5)

  Now, type in the start of the subnet range of your network. (Figure 6)

  For this example a zone is set up for subnet 192.168.0.0/24. (Figure 7)

  Choose the dynamic update option.
  I recommend picking the first option “Allow only secure dynamic updates” (Figure 8)

  That completes the wizard, click finish

Confirmation: For Verifying Reverse Lookup Zone, please check the following steps as an example.  Back in the DNS console click “Reverse Lookup Zone”  You can now see the new zone listed. The subnet will display backwards that is normal.  Now you will click the 0.168.192.in.addr.arpa zone to view the records.(IP address is example for this case)  So far you have only the SOA and NS resource records, no PTR records.  Once clients start dynamically updating their DNS the PTR records should start populating.  You can also manually create PTR records for systems that are not configured to dynamically update.
