SpectrAA Software: How to change the worksheet default saving location

This Information Applies To: Agilent Spectroscopy Systems, SpectrAA Software

Issue:

When the Open Worksheet action is selected in SpectrAA Software, the file is opened from the default path (location), which is: C:\ProgramData\Agilent\sp100\DATA. See Figure 1. A different file path may be chosen to open worksheets from, if needed.

Steps to Follow:

1. Close SpectrAA Software, if it is open.

2. Navigate to path C:\ProgramData\Agilent\sp100\WORKGRP.&\ using Windows File Explorer.

Tip: C:\ProgramData path is a hidden folder. Ensure Hidden items box is ticked in Windows File Explorer. See Figure 2.

3. Open the file WORKGRP.INI. See Figure 3

4. Search for “defaultWorksheetPath=” in the file.

5. Change this path to the preferred file path for the default saving location. In this example: “D:\Agilent\SpectrAA\DATA” was used. See Figure 4. 

Caution: The new path must have already been created prior to making this change

6. Save the file.

7. Open SpectrAA Software and select File then Open. The new default path for the file will be shown. See Figure 5.
