Agilent Seahorse Motor error/plate tray immovable: Troubleshooting Tips

If the software used with Seahorse analyzers displays a “tray move” error, this document can be used to help troubleshoot.


Here is a list of the most common causes for this error:

  • Software crash
  • User error: two cartridges may be loaded in the instrument at the same time (rare)
  • A hardware component could have become damaged


Try these steps for a possible resolution:

  • Completely restart system (both analyzer and controller)
  • Open analyzer cover to look inside to ensure that cartridge is not stuck in instrument. If there are two cartridges present, contact Cell Analysis Technical Support (see info below).
  • If restarting entire system does not send cartridge/cell plate out of analyzer, contact Agilent Cell Analysis technical support at:
