We developed a highly sensitive and specific LC/MS/MS method to quantitate metanephrine, normetanephrine, and 3-methoxytyramine in plasma. A solid phase extraction (SPE) procedure was used to extract the analytes and remove plasma interferences. The method achieved the required functional sensitivity, and quantitated analytes over a sufficiently wide dynamic range. Reproducibility was excellent for all compounds (CV < 6 %). All calibration curves displayed excellent linearity, with R2 > 0.9996.
