Peak result matrix report template (OpenLAB CDS Intelligent Reporting)

Version 2

The Report Template Editor (RTE) allows you to add a compound result matrix to your report. The usage of matrices is usually limited to electronic report formats as the number of columns increases with the number of compounds/named peaks.

Another limitation is related to unknown or uncalibrated types of peaks. RTE does not allow to create matrices to report or export these peaks. A key limitation is the alignment of related peaks that do have similar retention times across a series of analysis.

The attached report template got modified with BI studio to report peak area% results in a matrix. The template as such can be edited in OpenLAB CDS A.01.04 or higher  The matrix, however, appears as a grey box and can't be edited by RTE. Use a XML editor or Notepad to change the area% value to e.g. peak area.

A granularity parameter is used to define time slices helping with alignment of related peaks. It uses a negative logarithmic scale - a granularity factor 2 represents a time slice of 0.01 min. If peaks are too narrow there is a chance that peaks do not show up in the matrix.

A second table counts the number of peaks in each cell of the matrix. If the number is > 1 it shows a warning message . By increasing the granularity parameter and refreshing the report the user can add these suppressed peaks to the result matrix.

It's a quite simple solution and further improvement are welcome.
