Saving a group of report items as a Customized Composite Group is a powerful feature to re-use larger reporting items with other templates.

When closing the host application, the customized composite groups are stored in *.ircg or *.rdl files.  The storage location depends on the host application and is listed below.

By copying the *.ircg or *.rdl files to other user's or project folders these composite groups can be shared with others. (Note:  Moving composite groups across applications and revisions has not been tested.)

Storage locations for composite group files:

  • Open LAB CDS EZChrom:
    \<Project name>\Template\CompositeGroups\XXX.ircg
  • Open LAB CDS ChemStation (Windows 7):
    \Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Agilent Technologies\Agilent ChemStation\\IntelligentReporter\CompositeGroups\XXX.ircg
  • Open LAB Data Analysis (Windows 7):
    \Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Agilent Technologies, Inc\Agilent OpenLAB Data Analysis\1.93.0\IntelligentReporter\CompositeGroups\XXX.ircg
  • OpenLAB ECM Intelligent Reporter (Windows XP):
    Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Agilent Technologies\Agilent OpenLAB Intelligence Reporter\\CompositeGroup_XXX.rdl
