Analysis of agrochemical residues in red chili is always considered difficult because of its pigments. During sample preparation, these matrix components were co-extracted along with the target compounds. Due to these co-extractives, it was necessary to frequently perform source cleaning, as well as change liners and columns. Attempts were made to improve the sample preparation method to achieve better recovery and increase liner and column life. Choosing matrix-free transitions from the Agilent pesticide database permitted accurate determination of the residues. The Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and Safe (Agilent Bond Elut QuEchERS) was used for the extraction of different dispersive absorbents. The cleaned red chili extract was analyzed by GC/MS/MS in MRM mode using an Agilent 7890 GC with an Agilent 7000 Triple Quadrupole GC/MS system.
