Quantification of solid samples using FTIR Carry 630 ATR Diamond

I have a Carry 630 FTIR ATR Diamond in the lab, being used for academia research. In one of the projects, we are trying to quantify starch purity in starch samples.

Is that possible to quantify solid samples using this FTIR ATR mode, creating a calibration curve (partial least squares)? Is there any protocol availble that can guide through it?

  • Yes this is possible to quantify solid samples with Diamond ATR technology. You will need to create a PLS model using the Microlab PC quant application software. Once the model has been sufficiently tested and validated. It can be added to a Microlab PC Method and the predictions will occur automatically.

Unfortunately there isn't any protocols or procedures in place to describe how this is done.
